Designing for Impact: Alberta Children’s Hospital’s Fundraising Platform Redesign

When you’re a foundation doing vital work across communities, your website cannot be completely transactional; it has to connect

Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation (ACHF) needed a platform that could speak to multiple audiences (including donors, families, researchers, etc), and make it easier for their team to manage content and drive engagement.

Keep in mind; it’s one thing to have a great website; it’s another to be able to manage it on your own. The latter is always very important to us.

We kicked things off with a deep discovery process, mapping stakeholder needs across donors, families, volunteers, and internal teams. From there, we built a flexible WordPress site with modular content blocks, allowing the ACHF team to create and launch new campaigns, update messaging, and manage everything in-house (without needing any tech support).

Next, we needed to support fundraising, so we integrated Classy for seamless donations and peer-to-peer event management.

Our goal was to create a content-rich platform that was easy to update, fast, and focused on engagement, storytelling, and community impact. And we were able to achieve that.

We’re very proud of our work with the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. Check it out for yourself! Or read the full case study here

If you, too, need to build a platform that supports both your mission and your team, we should talk.
