Custom WordPress Build with Multi-Faceted Search
May 3, 2022
Campus Living Centres manages student housing properties across the country and was trying to split a marketing budget between 30+ individual websites. And unfortunately, they weren’t getting the best ROI.
That’s where Student Housing Canada (SHC) comes in.
The idea was to consolidate all those properties under one centralized platform so that the internal team would have one site to focus their marketing budget on. And of course, one place where students could easily find and compare housing near their schools. Simple and easy to manage.
Here’s how we approached it from a dev perspective:
We created a custom search experience that could intelligently organize and consolidate housing information from across the country.
We built a clean, responsive site on WordPress with a custom aggregate search feature that allows users to explore by city, institution, or residence name. Whether a student knows the exact building or just where they’re going to school, the site adapts to their search behavior and helps them get there quickly.
We also integrated Google Maps into every property and institution view, and streamlined and centralized so that the Campus Living Centres team can manage listings without the typical CMS hassles.
Sometimes the best solution isn’t adding more; it’s consolidating. If you’re managing multiple sites that stretch your budget or your internal resources, a unified platform might be the scalable answer.
