Developing A New Digital Gateway to Waterton Lakes National Park

Waterton is one of Alberta’s best-kept secrets—rich in natural beauty, biodiversity, and off-the-beaten-path experiences. To help more visitors discover it (and plan their perfect trip), the team at Waterton Tourism needed a website that was as welcoming and inspiring as the park itself.

We started by rethinking the content strategy and visual direction, designing a layout that makes it easier for users to explore hiking trails, local businesses, events, and lodging. Every element was built to guide visitors toward the experience that suits them best: it could be road trips, backpacking, or just looking to unplug.

On the backend, we built the site on WordPress with a flexible CMS tailored to Waterton’s needs, making seasonal updates and content edits simple. We also developed interactive tools for trail maps and listings, turning the site into a full-fledged trip planner.

For tourism brands, a great website isn’t just about visibility; it’s about inspiring action and making planning easier.
