From Manual to Modern: ABS’s Custom Insurance Portal
January 11, 2022
When insurance applications involve complex layers like forms, follow-up emails, and data re-entry, it doesn’t just slow things down; it can also increase the chances of error. Advocis Broker Services (ABS) needed a more efficient way to handle quotes, renewals, and payments while still working within their existing system.
We built a custom React portal designed to simplify the full insurance purchasing process. Through collaborative UX workshops, we mapped out an intuitive experience that works seamlessly across devices and integrates directly with the Applied Epic platform. Applied Epic is a world leader for insurance agency management systems (AMS), and a critical element to this project was to be able to connect our portal to Epic via the Applied Epic API and SDK.
The portal now offers real-time quoting, account management, renewals, and payments, with pretty much zero manual re-entry needed. By automating accuracy and streamlining the workflow, the team can focus on delivering value instead of handling the administrative aspects of things.
For complex services, a well-built portal does more than save time; it creates a seamless experience that people remember.
