The Challenge
EquipFlip wanted to develop a marketplace for the sale of industrial equipment, primarily used in the construction, farming, and the oil & gas industry. The marketplace needed to be easy for companies to list their items (often hundreds of individual items) and easy for potential buyers to search and find items available near them.
The Solution
Cornerstone worked with EquipFlip to develop a marketplace platform which is easy to use, quick to search, and incorporates equipment location into both search criteria and search results. The solution features different subscription levels, automatic payment processing, new listings wizard to help users setup their listings quickly, and admin approvals for new listings. It’s also fully configurable with Admins controlling all settings.
We guided EquipFlip through the entire process including requirements gathering, application architecture, UX design, application development, quality assurance, and post-launch support. The site was custom built in Ruby on Rails, providing a stable and reliable application, even as site functionality has been expanded upon with subsequent releases.

Over 1000 items have been listed to sell in just over a year since the site launched.
