The Lake House, one of Calgary’s premier fine dining and wedding venues, needed a new website that would better reflect its elegant brand and lakeside atmosphere. The existing WordPress site had certain limitations that the brand wanted to move past.
The goal was to create a visually rich, easy-to-manage site that could showcase the venue’s offerings, support seasonal content updates, and provide a streamlined experience for both event inquiries and diners.
We worked closely with our design partner, to bring their creative vision to life in Craft. The goal was to reflect the brand’s refined atmosphere—a blend of rustic charm and upscale dining—through thoughtful design execution. From elegant typography and rich imagery to subtle transitions and layout choices, every visual element was translated with care.
We rebuilt the site from the ground up on Craft CMS, giving the Lake House team a modern, flexible platform that’s built to scale. Craft provided a more customizable, high-performing, and future-ready solution—a significant upgrade from their previous WordPress setup, which had reached its limits in terms of flexibility and ongoing support.
Our development team ensured that the site not only matched the design visually but also delivered a smooth, responsive experience across devices, staying true to the ambiance and sophistication of the venue.
One of the more complex pieces of functionality was the custom event calendar system, which allows the Lake House team to manage and display upcoming events without relying on third-party plugins. This keeps everything under one roof and ensures smooth performance and consistent styling.
The new Lake House website is clean, sophisticated, and easy to navigate. With Craft CMS powering the backend, the site is easy for the internal team to manage and future-proofed for years to come. The new platform gives The Lake House the tools they need to showcase their brand, streamline events, and continue offering one of Calgary’s most memorable dining and wedding experiences.
