True North Mortgage Website Launched

True North Mortgage approached Cornerstone with a welcome challenge: Take their primary client-facing site and integrated custom application and make them work effectively across the country. With a huge amount of information, multiple audience groups and bilingual requirements, the goal was to simplify it so that it became friendly, approachable, and communicated an impactful message in both English and French, while also delivering custom content based on location.
Using Craft CMS 3, we implemented an updated User Interface (UI) that restructured information into a handful of intuitive groupings and utilized iconography in a simplified navigation system, providing visual cues to visitors. Clean, uncluttered design with animations and motion effects allowed us to communicate big, bold messages supported by custom visuals.
The site keeps track of mortgage rates for all regions across Canada and displays the relevant rates for each location. Rates and other content are also displayed in their physical locations using screens powered by the application, providing the latest and most relevant mortgage rate information to each customer.
Customers are also aided in finding the most suitable agent and broker through a filtering system where staff and mobile brokers can be searched by both location and languages spoken. Mobile brokers can either add points on a map or choose a single point with a set radius to determine the zones which they service, and the site allows them to connect with customers via their selected method, in addition to providing micro site landing pages to use as marketing material.
The bilingual requirement was met with a multisite approach that offers both English and French sides of the site with dedicated content for each audience. The ability to toggle between English and French is embedded in the site and doesn’t require the use of translation software, retaining the integrity of the messaging.
For a custom application with complex requirements and a lot of information, what you see when you visit the site is strikingly clean, simple and uncluttered. It is intuitive, not intimidating, and reflects our perpetual goal: Distill complex requirements into a user experience that looks and feels effortless.
